Nuclear configurations

19 types of nuclear configurations have been found in Spanish, in which a pitch accent appears combined with a boundary tone. In nuclear position, it is possible to find:

  • L* combined with L%, H%, L!H%, LH% or HL%
  • H* combined with L%, !H% or HL%
  • L+H* combined with L%, !H%, H%, LH%, HL% or LHL%
  • L!H% combined with L%
  • H+L* combined with L%, H%, LH% or HL%
